Celebrants
All Celebrants accredited by the Humanist Fellowship of Ireland are registered legal solemnisers of marriages in the Republic of Ireland. This means we can legally marry couples in unique ceremonies, designed with and for the couple being married. As well as marriages, our qualified celebrants have a wealth of experience in developing personalised ceremonies to mark the many events in our lives.
Each Celebrant negotiates their own fees with clients. In line with our philosophy, and as committed members of the community, Celebrants are reasonable when quoting fees. Due to our organisational structure there are no additional booking or contribution fees above the agreed Client/Celebrant fee.
Humanist Fellowship Celebrants are located around Ireland, meeting the needs of our wider community who are spread across this Island.
To contact a Celebrant, please email humanistfellowship.ie@gmail.com or use our contact form to connect with your local celebrant.

Weddings
Taking the decision to marry is one of life’s most joyful experiences. Our knowledgeable celebrants work with couples to design legally binding wedding ceremonies to celebrate that joy!
Your wedding ceremony will reflect your personalities and your relationship. Together, you will decide all elements of your ceremony: the inclusion of rituals, the participation of family and friends, music, readings, etc. Everything that is said, and everything that happens during your wedding ceremony is decided by you, the couple, supported and guided by your dedicated and experienced Celebrant.

Baby Naming & Welcome
When a new child joins a family, a ceremony to formally give them their name, and recognise them as part of their wider circle of family and friends is vital. A Welcome & Naming Ceremony involves family members, grandparents, “guide-parents”, siblings and other important people, who are asked to give a commitment to support the child in harmony with the parents. Such ceremonies can take place at the family home or other suitable venues as parents prefer. Welcome & Naming Ceremonies are planned with the support of our experienced Celebrants. They are uniquely designed for each family and each child.

Funerals
Those of us who live in personally fulfilling yet non-theistic ways, wish to have a funeral service that reflects those beliefs. Our sensitive and empathetic Celebrants create meaningful and bespoke funeral ceremonies that celebrate lives well lived. We do so in collaboration with the deceased’s closest family and friends, so that funeral captures the essence of the person who has died.
Funeral Ceremonies can be held in various suitable locations, including funeral homes, crematorium facilities or other appropriate venues.

Vow Renewals
Whether you have been married for a year, a decade or many decades, recommitting to your partner and to your marriage is a joyful, love filled occasion. Humanist Fellowship Celebrants work with couples to learn their unique story, and in collaboration, craft a ceremony to reflect their values, intentions and hopes for the future.

Coming of Age Ceremony
As children move from young childhood to middle childhood, and again into adolescence, there are perceptible shifts in how they see the world and their place in it. Through time and across cultures, these “coming of age” periods have been marked by ritual and celebration. Your local Celebrant will work with your family, or a group of families in the wider community, to develop a child-centred and child-planned celebration that can include extended family and friends, and child-led projects, to create a memorable event for all!
